Bus driver killed in Wayne County wreck

WAYNE, W.Va. — A driver with the Tri River Transit Authority was killed in a crash Monday evening in Wayne County, the state Department of Transportation said.

Herbert Hooser was driving the bus on U.S. Route 52 when he lost control of the vehicle at around 7 p.m. He had already dropped off all of his passengers.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the wreck.

Tri River Transit serves residents in four counties.
