After one too many evenings battling fruit flies in my kitchen, I decided to try the Katchy Duo Indoor Insect Trap<\/a>. I figured it couldn\u2019t hurt\u2014but I wasn\u2019t prepared for just how effective it would be. This little device didn\u2019t just reduce the problem… it erased it. From the moment I plugged it in, Katchy went to work. The combination of 360\u00b0 UV light and optional scent<\/a> pod lures bugs in, and a quiet fan pulls them down onto a sticky glue board they can\u2019t escape from. It\u2019s strangely satisfying to check the trap and see dozens\u2014sometimes hundreds\u2014of fruit flies trapped inside.<\/p>\n

What surprised me most was how quickly it worked. Within a day or two, I saw a huge difference. Within a week, I didn\u2019t see a single fruit fly buzzing around. I ended up ordering a second one for the foyer and a third for the hallway by the plants. Each one made a noticeable difference almost immediately.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t have to babysit this thing. There are five light\/fan settings to choose from, and an automatic mode that kicks on when it gets dark\u2014exactly when fruit flies come out. The glue boards are easy to change, and disposal is totally hands-free. Instead of buying the glue boards<\/a> from Katchy, this generic 48 pack<\/a> is cheaper and they’re practically just as effective and easy to change.<\/p>\n

If you’re constantly swatting at gnats or fruit flies, just get one of these. Or better yet, get two. For me, the Katchy Duo wasn\u2019t just a bug trap\u2014it was a lifesaver.
