BUCKHANNON — Corhart has eliminated approximately 20 jobs at their location in Buckhannon.
In a statement to the Inter-Mountain, Corhart expressed, “After a thorough review of current business conditions, we realized we needed to make difficult choices. One of those decisions was to reduce the Corhart workforce in Buckhannon by approximately 20 employees. The eliminated positions affected various jobs throughout the site. We recognize the impact this decision will have on those employees who are affected and we are committed to working with those affected throughout this time. The Buckhannon plant produces refractories for the glass industry and currently employs 170.”
Corhart stated that they hope the market improves, so their former employees can return to work.
