Bill Hamilton (R), Laura Finch (D) win party nominations in the 11th state senatorial district.

BUCKHANNON, WV — In the 11th state senate senatorial district, Del. Bill Hamilton won the republican nomination, and Laura Finch won the democratic nomination.

Republican Nomination

Hamilton defeated his opponent, incumbent Sen. Robert Karnes. Hamilton received 61 percent (5,787 votes), with Karnes receiving 39 percent (3,749 votes).

Democrat Nomination

Laura Finch defeated her opponent Margaret Beckwith, 54 percent (5,273 votes) to 46 percent (4,465 votes).

Hamilton and Finch will face off in the November General Election.
