CHARLESTON — More than 66,000 West Virginia voters cast ballots during the first four days of early voting for the 2026 general election, representing approximately 5.5% of the state’s registered voters, according to the West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office.
The Secretary of State’s Office announced Monday that 66,855 ballots had been cast or returned as of the end of the early voting period’s first four days.
Of that total, 62,366 voters cast ballots in person during early voting, while another 4,489 returned absentee ballots. The returned absentee ballots account for approximately 54% of the 8,290 absentee ballots requested for this year’s election.
West Virginia has 1,210,297 registered voters eligible to participate in the November 3 general election.
Early voting began October 21 and continues through October 31, giving voters several additional days to cast their ballots before Election Day on Tuesday, November 3.
