Stolen dog rescued in Charleston, WV and reunited with owners in Montana.

BUTTE, MT — In Montana, a pit bull was stolen from its owners and transported across the country to Charleston, WV. In a viral story, dog owner Cassandra Rasmussen expressed that Zeus (her 9-year-old pitbull) was returned from Charleston, approximately 2,000 miles away.

According to the Associated Press, Rasmussen stated that she and her two daughters were excited to have Zeus home for Christmas.

Rasmussen stated someone she considered a personal friend stole her dog along with her purse in October. In November, the perpetrator was arrested in West Virginia.

The stolen dog was tracked using a microchip, and a group of volunteers returned the pit bull back home, just in time for the holidays.
