BUCKHANNON — In an exclusive statement to Mountaineer Journal, local businessman Jack Reger expressed that he will officially announce his candidacy for Buckhannon City Council on January 21, 2020. Tuesday morning, Reger filed candidacy forms to launch his campaign, Reger for Buckhannon.
“Buckhannon is a tremendous community,” Reger expressed. “It’s a great place to raise a family. There are many positive things about our town. We need people with the background and experience to move this city forward. I think I may have some insights and abilities to help us accomplish that goal.”
“I’m a fiscal conservative, and I want to make sure the city is living within its means, while also efficiently using its resources to advance our community.”
Reger was born and raised in Buckhannon, graduating from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1976. Jack and his wife Charla Reger have been married for 38 years.
He is a retired educator and a retired assistant superintendent of Upshur County Schools with 38 years of experience in education.
Currently, Reger serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Monco Constructors, which has provided jobs for 49 employees, employing local people. He is also a co-owner of the historic A Governor’s Inn with his wife Charla.
Additionally, Reger serves as an active and dedicated member of the Grace Church congregation.
