BUCKHANNON — A 71-year-old man died Sunday after slipping and falling into a river in Upshur County, authorities said.
Deputies with the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office responded around 700 Boy Scout Camp Road on June 22 for a report of a possible drowning. Upon arrival, they began an investigation and learned that Harold Feagans, of St. Albans, had gone to the riverbank, slipped and fell into the water.
Feagans was later pronounced dead at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
The cause of death remains under investigation.
