Upshur-County Candidate Forum Set for Wednesday, April 15th at Wesleyan

BUCKHANNON — The Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce, My Buckhannon and West Virginia Wesleyan College’s Student Senate have announced the annual City, County and Board of Education (BOE) candidate forum will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15.

The event will be open to the public and will take place at Wesleyan College’s Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts.

This forum provides residents an opportunity to hear from candidates running for local offices, which include Buckhannon City Council, Upshur County Commission and the Upshur County Board of Education.

The event will be moderated by B-U Chamber of Commerce First Vice President Jamie O’Brien and is expected to last approximately two hours.

Candidates will answer questions submitted in advance and will not give speeches or statements in order to keep the event moving at a steady pace.

A booklet of candidate biographies will be distributed at the event.

Buckhannon residents can submit questions for candidates (note which office the question is intended for) by emailing info@buchamber.com or news@mybuckhannon.com. The question deadline is set for April 8th.

The candidate forum will also be live-streamed by My Buckhannon.
