Billy Joe Lane, age 48, of Walkersville, died on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was born in Weston on June 7, 1977, a son of the late Larry Edward Lane and Madeline Sue Westfall Lane who survives in Walkersville. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Martika Cheyenne Lane: maternal grandmother, Delphie Westfall, and paternal grandfather, James Lane.
He is survived by one son, Austin Lane of Madison, IL., one grandson, Kaden Lane; paternal grandmother, Betty Lane of Rock Cave; five brothers: Matthew and wife Tracy Lane of Wallace, WV, Lyle Lane, Buddy and wife Heather Lane, Edward Lane and Luke and wife Katy Lane all of Walkersville; two sisters: Serina Bennett and Tina Lane both of Buckhannon; former wife, Cindy Scovill of IL; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.
Billy enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to keep busy “tinkering” on things around the house. He was a former truck driver for Lane Truckin.
The family has honored his wishes for cremation and there will be no services.
