Helen Ruth Ours Malcomb, age 82, of Buckhannon, died at her home on Saturday, August 1, 2026. She was born on August 17, 1943, in Elizabeth City, VA., a daughter of the late Jackson Hugh and Clara M. Crites Ours. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Junior David Malcomb; one son, Kenneth David Malcomb; one grandson, Nathan Scott George; one brother, James Ours; two infant sisters; one daughter-in-law, Penny Malcomb.
She is survived by her children: Sandra G. George and Eric of Buckhannon, Judith A. Cutright and Bob of Buckhannon, Timothy W. Malcomb and Crystal of Elkins, Jeffrey C. Malcomb of Buckhannon, Linda K. Malcomb of Buckhannon and daughter-in-law, Terry Tenney of Buckhannon; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Jack Ours of Buckhannon, Richard Ours of Petersburg, WV, John Ours, Butch Ours, Geri Trinkle, Carol Corley, Karen Hinchman all of Buckhannon, Patty Gower of Canal Fulton, OH; several nieces and nephews.
Helen was retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital with thirty years of service in Housekeeping. She was a Christian by Faith and a former member of the Reger Chapel United Methodist Church.
The family has honored her wishes for cremation, and a private family service will be held at a later date.
