NEW YORK CITY — Former President Donald Trump was found guilty on all 34 felony charges of falsifying business records. These charges are connected to a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels, made by his then-lawyer Michael Cohen before the 2016 election.

This verdict will make Donald Trump the first United States President to be found guilty of a crime.

Trump, now faces sentencing on July 11, by Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan. This is just a few days before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where Trump, who has been impeached twice, is expected to be confirmed as the GOP’s presidential nominee.

Trump remains free without bail and faces a maximum of four years in prison for each count. However, Judge Merchan is not required to impose a prison sentence. The Former President is expected to appeal the verdict.

Donald Trump Jr.’s response to the verdict was taken to X (formerly Twitter) stating, “This case was rigged from the start. Remember, the same hacks in the media demanding Justice Alito recuse himself because of a flag, have zero problem with the corrupt judge in this case being a donor to Joe Biden or his daughter making millions from Democrats!”

The charges stem from Trump and the Trump Organization labeling payments to Cohen as legal expenses to reimburse him for the $130,000 payment Cohen made to Daniels before the 2016 election.
