Sandra Louise Collins Garrison, age 73, of Buckhannon, and a past resident of Elkins, died Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at her home. She was born on April 29, 1952, in Center Point, WV, a daughter of the late Archie Carl and Bonnie Mae Starkey Collins. A special loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and confidant, Sandy will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her husband, Robert M. (Bob) Garrison, to whom she was united in marriage on August 12, 1973; three sons: Michael Garrison of Nitro, WV, Matthew Garrison and wife Lauren of Jonesboro, TN, and Mark Garrison and wife Sarah of Buckhannon; five grandchildren: Elias, Hayes, Violet, Sutton, and Max Garrison; two sisters: Linda Mitchell of Coshocton, OH and Barbara Davis of Morgantown; one brother Thomas A. Collins and wife Janet of Center Point, WV; and several nieces and nephews.
Sandy was a graduate of the Doddridge County High School, Class of 1970, and went on to earn a degree in Library Science from WVU. She was retired from the Upshur County Board of Education having taught English at Buckhannon-Upshur High School for many years and concluding her career as librarian at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School. She touched many young lives during her long teaching career and always enjoyed seeing and visiting with former students.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 5-7:00 PM, at the Way of Holiness Church. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the church with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Following the services, the body will be cremated.
