BRIDGEPORT — State Sen. Ben Queen (12, R-Harrison) has been appointed to serve on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s newly revitalized Local Government Advisory Committee.
Queen is one of 13 new appointees to the 22-member national committee, which is composed of state and local officials and represents a broad range of communities across the country.
The committee works with the EPA to advance the agency’s mission of protecting human health and the environment while addressing environmental issues affecting local communities.
The LGAC is scheduled to begin its new charter with a discussion of challenges facing local governments as they consider the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure and data centers.
Additional information about the committee is expected to be released during a September Zoom meeting.
