BUCKHANNON — At his campaign event on Island Avenue on Saturday, candidate for city council Caiden Cowger discussed the attacks he received from Mayor Rick Edwards, and compared him to the former Mayor of Toronto, Rob Ford.
“The Mayor attacked you too didn’t he?” asked a member of the audience.
“The Mayor attacks me all the time,” Cowger responded. “I’ve lost track of how many times. He has gone to the extent of saying, ‘He’s a child,’ to ‘He doesn’t have a girlfriend.”
“That’s a good way to get young teenage girls to vote for me,” Cowger said jokingly. “Stay single.”
You look at all these issues I have up my sleeve: the building permit increase, water rate, B&O tax, the sales tax, raising their own salaries, you are going to have the gas thing now,” Cowger expressed. “What do they have on me? ‘He is a teenager.'”
“I am a teenager running on solving problems that were created by adults,” Cowger exclaimed.
