Patrick Morrisey wins republican nomination for U.S. Senate.

CHARLESTON, WV — In a contested three-way race, Patrick Morrisey was able to pull ahead and defeat his opponents.

Morrisey received 35 percent, with 47,002 votes. Evan Jenkins recieved 29 percent, with 39,393 votes. Don Blankenship obtained 20 percent, with 26,729 votes.

“Voters realize I have a strong conservative record, and you can’t make that up,” Morrisey told MetroNews on Tuesday. “Now we’re going to work to bring everyone back together to ensure we beat Joe Manchin in the fall.”

Patrick Morrisey will challenge incumbent Sen. Joe Manchin in the Novemebr general election.
