CHARLESTON — State Treasurer candidate Riley Moore (R) has taken the lead over incumbent John Perdue (D) in the State Treasurer’s race according to a recent poll conducted by Mark Blankenship Enterprises. Moore received approximately 45 percent of registered voters, with John Perdue receiving 42 percent.
“Our campaign is surging while John Perdue is hemorrhaging support left and right,” Riley Moore expressed. “Despite John Perdue having spent nearly the last half-century in government offices and despite him raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign cash from special interests, West Virginia voters are clearly fed up with his good ole’ boy political games where only his cronies and political supporters benefit.”
Moore stated that the State Treasurer’s Office needs to be more transparent and accountability needs to be better applied to improve the quality of representation for West Virginians.
“John Perdue is out of touch with West Virginians. He has supported liberals like Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and now Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. He supports all of the people who turned their backs on the hardworking men and women of our state.”
The telephone poll surveyed 504 West Virginia voters with a margin of error of +/-4%.
Moore resides in Harpers Ferry with his wife Mina and two daughters.
