WATCH: Police shoot man in Beckley waving pistol on freeway.

BECKLEY, WV — On July 6, law enforcement fatally shot an unidentified armed man near Crossroads Mall in the Beckley metropolitan area. The scene took place on the north side of Robert C. Byrd Drive near the on-ramp to U.S. 19.

The West Virginia State Police and the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department have not released any details. The incident went on for hours, ultimately leading to the suspect waving a pistol in the air, pointing it at his head, and brandishing it in front of numerous civilians on the freeway.

Over a dozen police officers are seen advancing toward the man, as the suspect walks onto the freeway. After refusing to comply with multiple commands, officers then unleash a hailstorm of brass bullets, rendering the threat annihilated.
