Gladys Lee Cool, age 85, of Buckhannon, died Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Tygart Center in Fairmont. She was born on May 8, 1939, in Webster County, a daughter of the late Harvey Hampton and Macil May Carpenter Simmons. On July 2, 1960, she was united in marriage to Hartsel Gene Cool who preceded her in death on January 9, 2022. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three brothers. She is survived by two sons: Hartsel L. Cool of Buckhannon and Allen Gene Cool of Florida; three grandchildren: Thomas Allen Cool, Krista Renee Cool, and Eric Allen Cool; four sisters; two brothers; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cool was a homemaker and talented crafter.
A funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel where friends may call for a half hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park.
