Resident of Buckhannon Kenny Myers Passes Away at age 62

Kenny Myers, age 62, a resident of Buckhannon, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at his home. He had been in declining health however, his death was sudden and unexpected.

He was born on April 13, 1963, in Buckhannon, a son to the late Paul Kenneth Myers and Mary Madaline (Tenney) Myers.

Kenny joined hands in marriage on April 23, 1988, in Pine Grove, WV, to Lisa Jo (Allen) Myers, who survives at their home.

Kenny’s journey through life was marked by kindness and integrity. He had a profound ability to connect with those around him, and his warm demeanor created lasting friendships that transcended time and circumstance. He leaves behind a son; Shane Myers, and wife Dee Dee of Buckhannon, daughter; Shayla Sponaugle, and husband James of Buckhannon, brother; Shawn Myers, and wife Chrystal of Martinsburg, WV., grandchildren; Dominic Workman, Kevin Layman, Sawyer Myers, and Kenna Myers, his working family and friends from Pilot.

Mr. Myers attended the schools of Upshur County; he was self-employed, and he and his brother owned and operated Myers Brothers Pilot Services. He was an avid Nascar Fan, Chase Elliot was his man, who was a football fan as well, and the Dallas Cowboys were his pick. He also drove a truck for twenty or more years. Kenny was a practical joker, always cutting up with everyone he came to know. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and wanted to own his own Harley-Davidson, but he decided to go ahead and take ownership of his brother Shawn’s bike instead of purchasing his own.  Kenny loved his family with his whole heart, especially his grandchildren. As we reflect on Kenny’s life, we remember not only his accomplishments but also his ability to listen and empathize. He touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.

Family and friends may gather at the Way of Holiness Church, Rt. 33 West 2337 Old Weston Road, Buckhannon, WV, 26201, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from noon until 4 pm, when a time of reflection on Kenny’s life will be conducted. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. The Kittle Family Funeral Home, 265 Beech Ave., Philippi.
