Connie Miller Burk

Connie Miller Burk, age 72, of Buckhannon, died Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Holbrook Healthcare Center where she had resided for the past several years. She was born on November 1, 1953, in Webster County, a daughter of the late Russell Postalwait and Margie M. Burns Hull. She was united in marriage on August 10, 1974, to Virgil D. Miller, to whom she was married until 1991. On December 22, 1996, she was united in marriage to Dannie Ray Burk who preceded her in death on March 24, 2012. In addition to her parents and first and second husbands, she was also preceded in death by one sister Donna Jean Ramirez.

She is survived by two sons: Shawn P. Miller and partner Leckta Poling of Philippi and Shane A. Miller and wife Pamela of Belington, WV; a very special friend Michelle Pudder and husband Tony Coppol of Kanawha Head, WV; six grandchildren who lovingly called her “NANA”: Tyler Miller and wife Kodi of Rock Cave, Timothy James (T.J.) Miller of Panama City, FL, Madisson Miller, Corey Miller, and Kaiden Miller, all of French Creek, and Beverly Miller of Belington; five great grandchildren: Jace Stokes and Eragon Miller of French Creek, Miner and Landree Miller of Rock Cave, and Avery Miller of Florida; five siblings: Debbie Clevenger of Webster Springs, WV, Ronnie Postalwait of Buckhannon, Stephen Postalwait of Webster Springs, and Mike Postalwait and Rodney Postalwait, both of Summersville, WV.

Connie graduated from Webster County High School in 1972, and took post-graduate classes at Glenville State College. She was a loving mother to twin sons, Shawn and Shane Miller, who she cherished and was so proud of their sacrifices and service to their communities in law enforcement. Connie had been employed at WV Wesleyan College, Union Drilling/Equitable Resources, various housekeeping jobs, and was a loving nanny to Bryson and Caroline Fluke for many years before relocating to Sunny Hills, FL with her husband Dannie. She loved canning, cooking, and baking, especially her favorites: potato soup and pumpkin rolls. Connie was a Christian who loved the Lord and prayed for her family and friends constantly. She attended the Horizons Church – Barbour County Campus.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 4-6:00 PM, at which time a funeral service will begin with Pastor Jeff Burnett officiating. Following the services, the body will be cremated and a private graveside service will be held at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Diana, WV at a later date.
