Conservative columnist and Tea Party Express spokesman Lloyd Marcus passes away at 71.

PAW PAW — On July 24th, Conservative columnist and activist Lloyd Marcus passed away at the age of 71. Marcus suffered from a sudden heart attack, passing one day after his wedding anniversary. He was born on October 24, 1948, and a resident of Paw Paw, WV.

Surviving Marcus is his wife Mary, who made this announcement:

“With my sad, heavy, and deeply broken heart Jesus suddenly came and reclaimed our Lloyd Marcus, The Unhyphenated American. Loved by many all over the world with his warm smile, optimism, hearty exuberance, his wise written words in columns, songs, videos, artworks and books, Lloyd Marcus is deeply missed. His family and dear friends are stunned at the sheer quickness and absoluteness of God’s hand as he was plucked from us to be with his beloved Lord and Savior in Heaven above. As I continue my life without his all-encompassing human love of me, his adoring, and steadfast wife, I thank you all for your loving compassion. Patriots, I want you to know he loved each and every one of you. Reading and responding to your letters of encouragement, questions, and well wishes, he loved you all and spoke of and wrote about many of you. I and he have always thanked you for your gifts through the years in helping him ‘Spread the Truth.’

Thanking you in advance for your heartful giving, I leave you with Lloyd’s words: I’m NOT African American-I’m Lloyd Marcus-AMERICAN! God instructed Pharaoh, ‘Let my people go.’ God instructs us, ‘Let my people know.’ Spread truth.”

Marcus rose to popularity as the face of the American Tea Party movement, most notably gaining recognition for creating the ‘Tea Party National Anthem.’ He also served as an official spokesman for the Tea Party Express, which led a national tour across the United States, protesting the policies of the Obama administration. He attended over 400 tea party rallies on 12 of the national bus tours. A highlight was the ‘Rally to Stop Obamacare’ in Washington D.C., with 1.7 million people in attendance.

The Guardian described Lloyd Marcus as a “prolific writer, singer and songwriter” serving as the “Tea Party Movement’s most prominent African American.” During the height of the Tea Party Movement, he was a frequent guest on Fox News, CNN, Newsmax, and the Right Network.

In addition to his work with the Tea Party Express, he also served as the chairman of the Conservative Campaign Committee PAC.

Marcus authored Confessions of a Black Conservative, with a foreword composed by conservative commentator Michelle Malkin. He often referred to himself as “The Unhyphenated American,” rejecting the term “African-American,” expressing that he is simply an “American,” as are all U.S. citizens.

Following his contributions to the Tea Party Movement, Marcus became a syndicated columnist, writing for Cowger Nation, Renew America, Mountaineer Journal, Canada Free Press, among others.

Marcus’ last piece contributed to Cowger Nation highlighted his primary focuses as a columnist: defending Godly principles, preserving the founding principles, and combating racial conflicts.

“Black Lives Matter, ANTIFA, and various other anti-Christian and anti-American hate groups do not want ‘brotherhood’ as desired by Dr. King,” Lloyd Marcus wrote on Thursday. “They want to punish white America. They demand that whites physically kneel to blacks and beg forgiveness for their sin of being born white. The people in these groups are wicked and must not be tolerated. At the top of your lungs, scream the word ‘No!’ to them.”

“I pray that Christians will stop kneeling to wicked cultural demands and begin standing up again for Godly principles. Far too many youths are Marxist-zealot domestic terrorists because we’ve allowed leftist schools to poison their minds about their God, their family, and their country. Outrageously, across America “yutes” are scolding, lecturing, and punishing their parents for being Christians, patriotic Americans, and gun-owners.”

“America is a Christian nation, brilliantly and divinely founded upon biblical principles. Stating this truth enrages BLM and ANTIFA, causing them to vomit green slime and their heads to spin around backwards. Evil is repulsed by good. Alexis de Tocqueville said, ‘America is great because America is good.’”

The final words of Marcus’ last column endorsed President Donald Trump, expressing that it was our final chance to save America.

“Seriously folks, we must do everything in our power to re-elect our remarkable president. This election is our last stand to save America as founded. America is counting on you.”

The Tea Party Express released the following statement, on his passing:

“Our team at Tea Party Express are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our team member and fellow patriot Lloyd Marcus. He was a dynamic individual who truly loved this country and his fellow Americans. He leaves a legacy through his music and written word that we are thankful for. A fine Christian man we know that Lloyd has entered the Kingdom of Christ and sings with the angels. Our prayers and condolences to Mary and the Marcus family and our heartfelt thanks for sharing Lloyd with a grateful nation. RIP Lloyd Marcus, see you on the other side.”

He was beloved by conservatives across the United States, serving as an influential voice for Tea Party Movement.
